The polytheists worship what they claim to be deities instead of Allah, which cannot benefit or harm them. But the One deserving of worship can benefit and harm whenever He wills. They say about their deities: These are our intercessors who will intercede for us with Allah, so He will not torment us because of our sins. O Messenger, tell them: Are you informing Allah, the Omniscient, that He has a partner while He is unaware that He has a partner in the heavens or the Earth? Sanctified and Exalted is Allah above the falsehood and lies of the polytheists.
